Directly above your post/page editor is your Add Media icon which you use to insert images, photo galleries, videos and audio files into your posts or pages.
You use the Add Media icon to add video files to posts or pages by either:
A. Uploading the video from your computer
B. Linking to the location of video on the Internet
C. Adding a video from your media library
Important Video Tips
Your video files should upload provided:
- It is an allowed file format
- Allowed file formats on Edublogs Include: jpg jpeg png gif doc pdf mp3 ppt wmv mp4 xls ins isf te xbk notebook m4a ist kmz kes mov flp avi swf wxr xml wav fjsw docx pptx xlsx xml m4v max kmz zip
- The file is not larger than 32 MB
- You have sufficient blog storage space available (displayed on your My Blog Module)
Please note:
- When you upload a file from your computer it won’t be embedded within an embedded video or audio player; it only inserts a link to the file.
- When readers click on the link it opens another page where the video is played or it downloads the video onto their computer.
To embed videos in a video player it is better to upload to a video hosting website and add them to your post using their video URL or their embed code.

Upload From Computer
You insert a video file from your hard drive into a post or page as follows:
1. Go to Posts > Add New or Pages > Add New or open an existing post or page in editing mode.
2. Place your cursor where you want the video file to appear and then click on the Add Media icon above your post/page editor.
2. In the Add Media window click on the Select Files button.
3. Locate the video file on your hard drive
4. Click Open to start uploading the file.
5. While your file is uploading you will see a progress bar.
6. Now all you need to do is:
- Add a title for video or audio file
- Click Insert into Post
8. Your Add Video/Audio window should be closed and your video should now be inserted in your post.
From URL
You can insert a link to a video file on the Internet into a post or page as follows:
1. Go to Posts > Add New or Pages > Add New or open an existing post or page in editing mode.
2. Place your cursor where you want the document to appear and then click on the Add Media icon above your post/page editor.
2. In the Add Media window click on the From URL tab.
3. Check ‘Audio, Video or Other File.’
4. Paste the URL of the video file and the Title (i.e. the link text).
5. Your Add Media window should be closed and your link to the video URL should now be inserted in your post.
6. Once published readers just need to click on your link to watch the video or download the video onto their computer.
From Media Library
You insert a video from your media library into a post or page as follows:
1. Go to Posts > Add New or Pages > Add New or open an existing post or page in editing mode.
2. Place your cursor where you want the document to appear and then click on the Add Media icon above your post/page editor.
3. In the Add Media window click on the Media Library tab.
4. Locate the video you want to add and click Show.
5. Add title and make sure you use File URL for the link URL.
6. Click Insert into Post.
6. Your Add Media window should be closed and your video should now be inserted in your post.
7. Once published readers just need to click on your link to view the video or download the video file onto their computer.
