The Recent Posts widget displays the most recent posts you have published. It makes it easier for site visitors to see what’s new on your site.
Here’s what it looks like when it’s added to a sidebar:

Once you add the widget to your sidebar in Appearance > Widgets, you’ll see that the widget settings look like this:
- Title: Allows you to add your own custom title. For example, Latest News.
- Number of posts to show: Controls the number of posts displayed.
- Display post date?: When selected the publish date of the post is displayed.
