Edublogs and Edublogs Campus blogs have been customised so that users can embed almost any HTML code into posts and text widgets. This means most javascript, iframes and object code can be added e.g. videos, google calendars, vokis, Voicethreads, ebooks, widgets

It also shows how to embed objects from other websites like SlideShare and Voicethread.

Directly above your Visual Text Editor toolbar is your Add Media area which consist of a row of four icons. These are the icons you use to insert images, photo galleries, videos and audio files into your posts.

You use the Add Video icon for uploading videos from your computer and the Add Audio icon for uploading audio files.

Your video and files should upload provided:

It is an allowed file format Allowed file formats on Edublogs Include: jpg jpeg png gif doc pdf mp3 ppt wmv mp4 xls ins isf te xbk notebook m4a ist kmz kes mov flp avi swf wxr xml wav fjsw docx pptx xlsx xml m4v max kmz zip

The file is not larger than 20 MB

You have sufficient blog storage space available (displayed on your Right Now Module)

Uploading a Video or Audio File from your computer

You insert a video or audio file from your hard drive into a blog post as follows:

1. Click on Add Video or Add Audio Icon

2. In the Add Video/Audio window click on the Select Files button

3. Locate the video or audio file on your hard drive

4. Click Open to start uploading the file.

5. While your file is uploading you will see a progress bar.

6. In the video/audio option screen insert a suitable title for the video or audio file. When your file is added to your post this title is the link your readers see so is best to use a title they can identify with.

7. Click Insert into Post

8. Your Add Video/Audio window should be closed and your video or audio should now be inserted in your post.

Tip:

When you upload a file from your computer it won’t be embedded within an embedded video or audio player; it only inserts a link to the file.

When readers click on the link it opens another page where the audio file is played or it downloads the video onto their computer.

To embed videos in a video player you will need to upload to a video hosting website and add them to your post using their embed code by following these instructions.

Video hosting websites include:

YouTube

SchoolTube

Vimeo
